The Luxford’s sponsored St George’s Premier Squash League team recently reached the 2015 semi final of the Premier Squash League beating Coolhurst London 4–1. A close fought final against Duffield, Derbyshire unfortunately resulted in St George’s losing 3–2.

Three of our team of five are Weybridge born and bred, with Joe Lee and Tom Richards regularly competing on the squash world stage and enjoying high world rankings.

Esher’s Under 15s bring home the Silverware for 3rd Year in a Row

Luxfords sponsored Esher Rugby Club’s Under 15 side have completed their season with a cup-winning performance at the West Country Festival of Rugby to secure silverware for a record third season in succession.

Following promotion for both As and Bs last year to Surrey Divisions 2 and 5 respectively, both sides had success in consolidating their positions in the higher leagues, with both finishing in highly respectable mid-table positions.

Esher’s Chairman of Rugby, leading TV sports broadcaster John Inverdale said “Our Under 15s have done us proud again. Many have been with us since they were Under 7s and they’ve become very much part of the success story here at Esher. We know that being a great club is about more than just the great standard of rugby seen from our National One side; it’s every bit as important that we offer rugby for all and develop the next generation of players. We’ll certainly be keeping a close eye on a few of our Under 15s as they move through the club and Academy and contend for 1st XV places in the years to come.”

We are proud to advise that, following a very long day, we were successfully re-assessed to the Domestic, Commercial and Overseas BSI standards and we have also met all areas for the annual inspection of our premises, equipment, vehicles and procedures required by our trade association, BAR. We are now looking forward to a busy and successful summer.

The Weybridge Chamber of Commerce Golf Society has been serving local businesses for over 20 years. Luxfords were involved in setting up the Society right at the beginning and are pleased to say that they have recently taken over the running of this business community initiative, regularly running Society Golf Days at prestigious golf courses in Weybridge and the local area. In keeping with our tradition of supporting our local community, Luxfords has, for a number of years, sponsored the St Georges Hill Lawn Tennis Club’s (www.stgeorgeshillclub.co.uk) men’s first squash team who compete in the prestigious Surrey Cup which they won for the 2008/9 season and again for the 2012/13 season.

For the 2013/2014 season, we are proud to announce that, alongside 9 Telecom, we are also sponsoring the St George’s Premier Squash League as well as both the Surrey Cup’s men’s first and second teams.

St George’s Premier League is a truly first class team which includes “home-grown” world class players Tom Richards (world no. 22) and Joe Lee (world no. 34 and first ever English winner of The Nash Cup in Canada) and who can be seen in action for the League at St George’s on 22 October, 26 November, 18 February, 4 March and 1 April.

As sponsor for the Esher Rugby Club’s Under 14 side, Luxfords are proud to confirm that the team have achieved a stunning clean sweep, winning every game over an eight month season to capture top place in Surrey League 3 and secure promotion for the second year in succession. As well as going unbeaten in a tough league season, Esher also achieved a rare whitewash, winning every game of a busy fixture list, including big wins over Premiership clubs Wasps and Harlequins.

Esher Under 14s’ Head Coach, Andy Berry, said: “The coaching team and parents are really proud of the entire squad. Both teams have achieved well-deserved success due to massive effort and commitment over a long season. We also owe a big vote of thanks to Esher professional Cameron Gentles and backs coach Aleks Naess-Clarke, who have taught the boys so much this year and to sponsors Luxfords Removals of Weybridge without whom little of this would have been possible. But the credit ultimately rests with the boys - who can now enjoy their summer knowing that they’re champions.”

Princess Alice Hospice is a charity providing free holistic palliative care for patients with advanced illness and those approaching the end of their lives. We aim to enable all patients to have the best possible quality of life to the end, responding quickly to their needs and wishes. They recognise that family, close friends and carers also have needs of their own and are there to provide them with support, comfort and advice at every stage of illness and after death.

They provide care across a large part of Surrey, south west London and Middlesex. It costs in excess of £7.5 million to provide their services free of charge, with over 75% of costs needing to be funded by our local community through fundraising and donations to the Hospice shops.
